Collection: Katsushika Hokusai

Katsushika Hokusai (1760–1849) was in his seventies when he made
the wave that everyone knows, part of a series circling a single mountain from
thirty-six angles. Flat colour, bold contour and a sense of composition that
European painters spent the following century borrowing from.
